email over 31 weeks on self awareness, particularly in relation to the
tricks and traits of our mind. Each Dew Drop has at least one exercise
so you can work with the material and relate it to your life.
Dew Drops should be received with the attitude of….
Every
time I work on Dew Drops, I see how much I have to learn and work on,
but let’s be good to ourselves in the process. Let’s know that we are
okay, that we are fine, while at the same time acknowledging that as
humans (as history testifies) we have some weaknesses/blind spots that
need working on! These weaknesses or blind spots at times prevent us
from experiencing our true nature of goodness, generosity, kindness and
caring.
All those feelings….
Whether it is life in
general, our business, our relationships or our children causing us
angst, it is all based in emotions. And emotions come from our beliefs
and thoughts.
When we become aware of our thoughts and beliefs
then we can experience more freedom in choosing what we think and feel!
The beliefs come from two sources, one is uniquely ours picked up
during our personal life journey (Particularly at the time of
childhood). The other source comes from the culture that we share. An
example of this is the belief that if something goes wrong, then
someone is at fault. This belief along with many other culturally based
beliefs don’t serve us.
Genetically we humans are 99.9% the
same, emotionally we share the same concerns, the same worries, the
same delights and the same mind mechanism, lets work together in
transcending some of our shared non-serving beliefs, constructs and
mind traits.
The first step is
awareness, being able to witness the self talk and from there unravel
to identify the belief underpinning the chatter. So:
Exercise 1
Start untangling the web by considering: What experiences lead me to becoming the person I am today?
Example:
In my family the females are very ambitious and career driven, so my
experience tells me that career is an important part of the female
identity. I can then identify how the belief is reinforced by my
perceptions, creating my experience and feeding right back into the
beliefs.
Until next time
Warm regards
Charlotte
